Appointed as a District Court Magistrate in October 2020, Larimer County Magistrate Cara M. Boxberger presides over emergency motions to restrict and orders of protection in Courtroom 1A.
Prior to her appointment as a Larimer County Magistrate, Cara M. Boxberger served as a Deputy District Attorney for the 8th Judicial District. Her focus was sexual assault and crimes against children. In this capacity, she was recognized with the prestigious “Robert R. Gallagher, Prosecutor of the Year Award” (2019).
Additionally, from 2009 through 2014, she served as a Deputy District Attorney in the 17th Judicial District.
Magistrate Boxberger earned her Juris Doctorate from Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver (2007) and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Denver (2004).
